Turf Field (Home/Away)
Go to your game. If you are home, you may have to remind your opponent that you are playing on turf and the game will be played.
Grass Field
Establish a means of communication on game day in which the Home Team will either confirm the fields are open and the game is on, or that fields are closed and the game is off. Maybe managers will call managers? Maybe the head coaches will speak? In all cases where an opponent tells you that your AWAY game is canceled, get confirmation in writing. Rookie coaches will sometimes cancel games they shouldn't have because they do not know their Club's process.
HOME
You must check the "Field Status" link on the home page. If the fields are closed it is your responsibility to inform your opponent of the cancelation. You must do so the earlier of 3 hours before game time or 10 AM. If you have a 10 AM game, you must check field status by 7 AM. In the event of a field closure, the BHYSC field scheduler will inform the referees. If the fields are open, it is good practice to confirm with your opponent that the game is still on. If the fields are open, both teams should go to the field, no matter how hard it is raining. It is now up to the referees to determine if the field is playable.
AWAY
Unless you have received a specific message that the away fields are closed, go to the game no matter how hard it is raining. It is up to the referees to decide on the playability of the field at game time. If you are told game is canceled, please make sure you receive this confirmation in writing.
